The Clare Valley was settled by English, Irish and Polish immigrants, who first moved into the region in the 1840's. The beauty and abundance of heritage buildings let you relive the unique pioneering spirit of the Clare Valley. The oldest winery Sevenhills was established in 1851 and now there are over forty wineries in the Clare Valley. With intimate valleys and hills ranging from 300 to 1000 metres above sea level and a favourable climate, the Clare Valley provides idyllic conditions to produce premium wines.
