This is the story of one woman and a little girl who live in the most arid part of the Rajasthan state where the annual rainfall varies from 10 to 40 cm. It is quite often erratic, so much so that the entire rainfall of the year may fall on a single day and the rest of the year may be dry. In India, water is solely a woman's problem. From the time she is able to walk, she learns that it is her job to find and get water for the entire household. In her lifetime, she would have walked more than 10,000 miles to get water.
